Media IS NOT a manual item-by-item process. The media goes along too, but I can't remember the procedure off the top of my head. At that point a gedcom of FTM 2012 will import well into TNG. Since I like to use FTM 2014 to interface with Ancestry (at least for now), I first sync 2014 with Ancestry and then I export 2014 to FTM 2012. I had to buy a copy of FTM 2012 at e-Bay. Note also that FTM 2014 will not work in this process as the apps were written (last I checked). There are two different apps available as add free on utilities from TNG members (can't recall the names right now, but I have all of the info at home). This will allow an easier transfer of media. The simplest (though a bit convuluted) method to transfer a tree over is via Family Tree Maker as a middle step.
I have been using to interface with TNG for a couple years. I am out of town and will be back with access to my TNG notes in a few days.
